BOC Cisco: Upgrading the BOC Server OS

1 min. readlast update: 06.12.2025

Generally speaking, it’s quite easy to move to a new server.

Our application always supports the latest Windows and SQL releases.
Any restrictions will come from the Cisco TSP.

While our application will easily take an OS upgrade, in-place Windows OS upgrades have not been easy for customers. We depend upon the Cisco TSP.  The Cisco TSP will break, and it is difficult to repair.  We typically do not recommend in-place upgrades.

1st step is to ensure your CallManager is supported on the server OS you wish to move to.
You can verify your CUCM version with the Cisco TSP compatibility list.

Next, build a server to host the BOC.  Patch it with Windows Update until there are none left to apply.
You do not need to install anything else.

Then you can schedule an engineer to configure BOC on the new server and copy your configuration.  There is no charge for this.

After this is completed, you can re-IP the server or move the operators to the new server off hours.

You can select from available times on our scheduler to have an engineer do the migration.
