RingCentral: Configuring a Physical Phone

By default, Bridge Operator Console for RingCentral (BOC) operates as a softphone.  This requires a valid microphone and speaker to function (this is most commonly a headset).

However, it is possible to control a physical phone.  In this mode, BOC functions as a remote control for the assigned physical phone.  Before you can configure this in BOC, you must have the physical phone configured and working on the RingCentral service portal.

In this mode, if you wish to use a headset, you would connect and configure it to use the physical phone.

  1. Click the button to choose Device Control.
  2. Choose the physical phone
  3. In the example below, you can identify the physical phone as it is labeled HardPhone
  4. Verify that Selected Device reflects your physical phone that you wish to control.
